FUMAX® type G

Applications, properties and benefits

FUMAX® Typ C is a polymer swelling strip based on a tough and flexible acrylate polymer that is highly resistant to chemicals.

On contact with water, the FUMAX® type C swelling strip increases in volumne without changing its homogeneous chemical structure. The resulting contact pressure achieved by the FUMAX® Typ C swelling strip ensures a tight surface seal and prevents water permeation.

- Easy to install and work with (see notes on
  installation FUMAX®)
- Outstanding swelling capacity achieves a tight
  seal
- Installation does not give rise to additional
  labour and material costs
- For gap and crack widths of 0 - 7 mm; durably
seals cracks up to 50 m water column (5 bar)
- Standard quality (freshwater) reliably resists
  electrolytes and chemicals

FUMAX® Typ C swelling strip can be used wherever direct contact with water is possible (prefabricated construction)

FUMAX® type S

Flexible swelling strip for all construction joints

Applications, properties and benefits

FUMAX® is a sodium-bentonite-based swelling strip. The natural clay swells substantially as it absorbs a large amount of water. When installed, a tight seal is obtained by the pressure exerted by the swelling strip.

- FUMAX® is a flexible material. Movement in the
joint caused by builing settlement, for example,
does not impair the sealing effect
- Its continuous hydraulic swelling behaviour
enables FUMAX® to penetrate all cracks and
  cavities
- Easy and quick to install, simple butt joints, no
  overlaps, no welding
- Efficient, durable seal up to 10 m water column
- Swelling capability fully retained with no loss of
  performance in locations subjected to
  fluctuating water loads
- Ideal for use in conjunction with crack control
  rails

Notes on installation
- The laying surface must be free of loose
material and stagnant water (DIN 1045,
  paragraph 10.2.3)
- FUMAX® is laid in the centre of the
construction joint. The ends of the strips must
  meet without overlapping.
- Attach fixing rail and secure with a clamp and
cap-head bolts or impact plugs with spacing
  approx. 25 cm
- For use with cap-head bolt drill bore hole,
diametre 5 mm, depth 40 mm
- Locate fixing lattice and attach the disc with
  the pin
